Introduction

This area of the website is devoted to giving non-members a chance to sample some of the work done by the Society in the past.

A selection of articles taken from the regular quarterly Local History Records journal (or the earlier sister Bulletin), covering different aspects of local history in the Bourne Society area, will be indexed from this page.

In some cases, where the article is short, it will be displayed on a web page of its own. In other cases where the article is larger then it will be made available as a PDF document. You may either read them online or save them for later viewing via Adobe Reader or similar software.

There may also be made available from time to time down-loadable secure PDF files of publications that are no longer in print and unlikely to be re-printed.

Please note that these PDF files are in a secure format so that you will not be able to print or copy out sections of the articles. In order to view the PDF file you will need to have the FREE Adobe Reader program installed.

Click on the small image of the files shown below to get a full sized display of the full article, which you may read and/or print out on your own computer using Adobe Reader or similar software.

Note: the files may be quite large (up to 1 MByte) so please be patient while they download.

In 1994 the Bourne Society published a booklet, Bourne Doodlebugs, by the late Peter Flint, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the V1 Doodlebug flying bomb offensive.
