UNVEILING OF BOURNE SOCIETY PLAQUE AT PURLEY STATION

On Friday, 28th October 1988, a plaque commemorating the re-naming of Purley Station on 1st October 1888 from its former name of CATERHAM JUNCTION was unveiled by the Society's President, Jeoffry Spence. Among those present were Don Gallup (Area Manager, BR), Vince Wynd (Stations Manager, Purley Group BR) and Bourne Society Council members. We hope that this attractive plaque will be the fore-runner of many similar plaques marking historic events and places in the Bourne Society area.
